Adobe announced the immediate availability of Adobe ColdFusion 9, Adobe ColdFusion Builder Beta 2, and a private beta of the new ColdFusion 9 in the Cloud that will run in the Amazon Web Services environment and enable more developers to access the power of ColdFusion as a hosted service. ColdFusion 9, a powerful development technology for building dynamic Web sites and Internet applications, increases developer productivity, integrates with complex enterprise environments and delivers rich and interactive experiences for users. ColdFusion Builder Beta 2 is the next build of the new Eclipse based ColdFusion integrated development environment (IDE) used for rapidly developing ColdFusion applications. |

Use Adobe ColdFusion, LiveCycle Data Services ES, and AIR to build a enterprise micro-blogging solution. In this article, I will discuss how to use Adobe technologies to build an enterprise micro-blogging solution. My intent is to demonstrate that a full-fledged, enterprise-capable solution can be built using solely Adobe tools. Such a solution can overshadow existing comparable solutions on many levels, including security, convenience within the enterprise, and integration with other technologies. This article does not explain step-by-step how to build a micro-blogging solution, but rather presents the framework and Adobe technologies that you can use. |

Read about the inspiration that went into the creation of the Times Reader. Justin Van Slembrouck was well–equipped to be the lead designer on the Times Reader project. He has great digital chops, as well as experience designing for print, and a deep affinity for the form. Indeed, he notes that while working on the Times Reader, he occasionally felt a certain envy toward his Times colleagues, whose work finds its expression not in pixels, but in ink on paper. The first time you use the application, you'll see that these feelings drove him to create an application that provides not just a great reading experience, but one that's as much like reading a printed paper as possible. |
