In today’s fast paced world, policies and procedures for doing business are constantly being updated. This presents the new challenge of ensuring staff understand and adhere to these changes.
For Old Mutual South Africa’s Personal Financial Advisor (PFA) division, this is a very real challenge. With PFA’s spread far and wide across South Africa, serving millions of corporate, commercial and institutional clients, it is imperative that they stay up date with Financial industry standards.
Old Mutual provides training for their PFA’s, however making sure they receive the training from across the country, without taking them away from their clients proved difficult.
Demitri Merritt, eLearning Specialist at Old Mutual South Africa, the man tasked with finding the solution to their training challenges, implemented Adobe Connect.
“Adobe Connect is a highly scalable enterprise e-Learning platform,” says Merritt. “It’s a high-end solution and because of its scalability and the modular nature of its components, it is possible to meet our exact needs”.
This solution enables Old Mutual to provide advisors with an effective and powerful eLearning solution that helps ensure they stay up to date on critical business topics, while having the freedom to participate in meetings from anywhere, at any time.
Adobe Connect offers learners a virtual classroom interface to participate and learn. Once logged on, users can receive streaming audio or video, as well as download documents. The educational host can collaborate with learners through several activities such as PowerPoint presentations, live forums and use of a whiteboard to illustrate a point. These interactive sessions can be recorded and archived for future playback or viewing by students.
For Old Mutual, Connect has streamlined resource management within the PFA division, improving productivity and saving time, and has enabled managers and advisors to handle their continuous learning more efficiently.
