One of the first things Alistair Lee (Sr. Product Enablement Manager, Adobe Connect) does after creating any new Adobe Connect room is open up the Room Preferences menu and swap out the default background with a new image. He keeps a collection of his favourite background images specifically for his Adobe Connect rooms.
With the latest update, Adobe Connect has moved away from the plain light-grey default background to something with a bit of colour to highlight the new semi-transparent pods. However, he still finds that applying his own image gives the room more polish and personality. It’s also an opportunity to brand the room with a logo which will appear on every layout.
To make things easy for customers, who may not have a folder dedicated to Adobe Connect backgrounds, Adobe has got a couple of options on connectusers.com that might help. The first is an image gallery of royalty-free and free to use images perfectly sized for Adobe Connect. The second is a new Gradient Studio that will help you quickly and easily create your own gradient background image.
Image Gallery
Alistair has been using generative AI tools like Adobe Firefly often over the last year to help create images for his Adobe Connect rooms – including virtual backgrounds for the room, webcam video, and the Titler custom pod. Instead of keeping all of these to himself, he has created a gallery that includes backgrounds sized for Adobe Connect rooms (and video), along with a second gallery of images that are sized for the Titler pod.

You can find the gallery here.
Gradient Studio
If you’d like more control, especially when it comes to branding, then the new Gradient Studio can help you create your own unique virtual background.

Gradient Studio is designed specifically for Adobe Connect, so your background is automatically sized correctly from the start. From there, you can build a custom gradient using colours that align with your organisation, your event theme, or simply the look and feel you want for your room.
Not sure which colours work best together? The built-in colour suggestions make it easy to explore combinations, from complementary and triadic palettes to softer pastel tones. You can even anchor the design around a specific brand colour to ensure visual consistency.
Beyond the gradient itself, you can layer in subtle patterns to add texture and depth. Whether you prefer something understated or more visually dynamic, these pattern options help you create a background that looks polished without distracting from your content.
If you want to enhance contrast or draw attention to certain areas of the screen, vignette controls allow you to add shading for visual focus, which is particularly useful when incorporating branding elements.
Gradient Studio makes it simple to upload and position your logo. With adjustable sizing and placement, you can keep your branding present but unobtrusive — ideal for rooms where pods and shared content take centre stage.
When your design is complete, you can download it immediately for use in your Adobe Connect room. You also have the option to save your configuration, making it easy to reuse the design later or share it with colleagues for consistent room branding across events.
Gradient Studio gives you a quick, flexible way to move beyond generic backgrounds and create something that truly represents your session, team, or organisation.
