Adobe has confirmed that the VIP Marketplace license access period will remain unchanged, despite a previous announcement suggesting otherwise. Adobe announced that they would turn off license access 14 days after the customer’s Anniversary Date for licenses that expire on Anniversary Date, beginning on December 1, 2026.
After further review, Adobe has decided not to move forward with this change at this time. The current 30-day license access period will remain in effect.
Renewal orders remain due on or before the Anniversary Date, and partners should continue leveraging the Early Renewal API, Update Subscription API, and auto-renewal to consistently drive earlier renewals.
We’ve already started making Marketplace enhancements to support the reduced license access period. Was that work unnecessary?
No. Renewals are due on or before the Anniversary Date, and partners should continue leveraging any enhancements already made to drive earlier, more consistent renewal engagement.
Why retain 30 days if Adobe wants customers to renew on time?
The 30-day license access period began in the VIP Buying Program. We know that partners are adjusting their practices to VIP Marketplace. Now that multiple APIs (Early Renewal API, Update Subscription API, and auto-renewal) that assist with accurate on time renewals are available in VIP Marketplace, we are providing partners with additional time to transition their business practices to ensure all renewals are on time.
However, in cases of occasional administrative delays in securing renewals, retaining a license access period is important. While this is not a grace period, Adobe does not want to negatively impact customer access to licenses in such circumstances. At any time, Adobe may adjust the license access period to end on (or closer to) when license terms expire.
Is Adobe planning to reduce the license access period in the future?
At this time, the license access period will remain 30 days. At any time, Adobe may adjust the license access period to end on (or closer to) when license terms expire. Partners and customers should not expect license access after a license has expired.
What should partners be doing differently?
Renewal orders remain due on or before the Anniversary Date. Partners should begin renewal engagement earlier, understand the Anniversary Date is the renewal deadline, and encourage customers to renew early using to help ensure orders are completed on time.
Partners should use the Early Renewal API, Update Subscription API, and auto-renewal APIs to consistently drive earlier renewals and support their renewal processes. If you have any questions or require clarification regarding this change, please contact the Dax Data team.
