Ask a photographer, filmmaker, or graphic designer when lightning is most likely to strike during their creative process and chances are they’ll tell you it happens during the initial ideation phase. That’s why Adobe created Firefly Boards — an AI-first space where you can explore, iterate, and collaborate in real time with the industry’s top models, including Adobe Firefly models alongside models from partners including Black Forest Labs, Google, Luma AI, Moonvalley, Pika, and Runway. Firefly Boards has been available in beta in Adobe Firefly — the all-in-one destination to generate images, video, text effects, audio, and more with a broad set of industry-leading models — and through that beta, Adobe has learned a lot about how creative people brainstorm.
Adobe has recently launched Firefly Boards worldwide with even greater flexibility and power, including two new industry-leading video models — Runway Aleph and Moonvalley Marey — giving creators more choice in how they explore ideas. They’re also introducing three new features that help you move from inspiration to iteration much more quickly: Presets, Generative Text Edit (beta) and Describe Image. Adobe is also making it easier to access Firefly with new flexible subscription offers and ways to use generative credits, so more creators everywhere can bring their ideas to life.
Firefly Boards enriched with Presets, Generative Text Edit (beta), and Describe Image

Firefly Boards was built on the insight that creative work is highly iterative and collaborative. Instead of juggling disparate tools, sourcing assets by hand and struggling with long feedback loops, with Boards you can bring everything into one unified space where inspiration, generation and alignment flow seamlessly. The result is a dynamic, tactile environment where ideas take shape effortlessly.
Boards now include three new features designed to help creatives move even faster from inspiration to concept:
- Presets: Presets help you generate images in a variety of styles. Try Product and Character to visualise a product with a model, Virtual Try On for fashion ideas and Electric Party to transform portraits, all in a single click. Powered by Adobe Firefly and partner models from Black Forest Labs, Google, OpenAI, and more, Presets are a rich launchpad for exploration.
- Generative Text Edit (beta): Swap or update text directly in visuals, matching the context, without having to leave Boards. Perfect for rapid iteration and on-the-fly adjustments that don’t interrupt your flow.
- Describe Image: Have an image you like, but need to make some tweaks? With Describe Image, you can have Boards analyse an image and describe it in a ready-to-use (and edit) prompt. Describe Image makes it easy to build on inspiration without having to guess the right words.
Presets, Generative Text Edit and Describe Image are designed to give you more creative freedom and control. And there are even more features to help you shape your ideas faster and bring your vision to life.
New video AI models in Boards
Adobe’s vision is to make Adobe Firefly the place where creators of all kinds can access the very best models in one place — including in Firefly Boards — and use them seamlessly with the Adobe tools they rely on. With this recent launch, Runway Aleph and Moonvalley Marey generative video models are now available in Boards. These models join the expanding lineup of leading AI models available in Boards — including Luma AI’s Ray3 and Ray2, Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash Image (Nano Banana) and Veo 3, Pika 2.2, Flux.1 Kontext, and Runway Gen-4 — giving creators more starting points to explore styles, generate content, and build multi-modal workflows. For example, a filmmaker could use Runway Aleph to quickly generate storyboards, using a reference video to guide composition, then refine those frames using conversational edits.
A design team working on a brand campaign could use Moonvalley Marey to generate dynamic motion clips using reference images for the first and last frames, combine those clips with brand assets and Firefly images in Boards and create a polished visual narrative they can align on internally and pitch to their client.
Flexible new subscription offers in Firefly
To better serve creator needs, Adobe is evolving their Firefly subscription offerings. Their current plans will be renamed to more clearly reflect credit capacity across Creative Cloud applications. As before, all Firefly plans include unlimited access to standard features, unlimited canvases to create as many boards as you like and access to Adobe’s fast-growing library of industry-leading partner models. Creative Cloud Pro members enjoy the same access to premium generative AI as Adobe’s Firefly plans.
