In June, Adobe unveiled exciting new features to speed up editing, enhance your photos, and share your process. Today, Adobe is bringing you early access to a new experience that streamlines your photo editing process in Lightroom for mobile.
Adobe began this journey by engaging with the creative community to understand how they can address pain points, modernise the interface, and scale for the future. They are excited to now open this opportunity to the broader community so you can provide feedback to make the experience even better.
The new intuitive interface
Focus on the most important tools
Many users shared that scrolling through several options can be overwhelming, particularly if you are new to Lightroom. So Adobe came up with a streamlined layout that reduces the number of options on screen from 15 to just five. Adobe achieved this by grouping similar tools and moving less frequently used tools to the 3-dot menu. With the expandable toolbar, you can now see your entire toolset in one view without scrolling.
This means that you get quick access to the tools that you use most, make one-handed edits more easily, and enhance your photos in a few easy taps.
A more natural editing process
Adobe has also updated the order of the tools, to better reflect how you edit. To the far left, they moved the tools that most of you start with. The more advanced tools, which are typically used at the end of the editing process, are on the right. So now, editing feels more second nature as you naturally move from left to right.
This approach isn’t just more intuitive for everyone, it also makes the learning process easier for those of you who are just starting out.
Try it today
Adobe has already introduced a preview of their new interface to some members of their community, who are excited about the way it makes editing faster and easier.
